Description
Beyond Basics
This Intermediate 1 class is all about getting your foundations mega solid.
You’ve tried the basic positions and your first inversions, now it’s time to really nail them - and start taking them places.
Over four weeks, we’ll work on making the fundamentals cleaner, safer, almost effortless, while gradually adding entries, exits, transitions and your first washing machines.
There will be regressions and progressions to accommodate different levels of experience, so you can work at the right level of challenge for you.
And because good acro is about much more than just tricks, we’ll also dig into the skills that make you a great person to train with.
We’ll examine spotting principles and techniques to transform you into the kind of spotting ninja that everybody wants to have by their side. We’ll talk about constructive feedback, how to give it, when to give it, and when it is better to shut up. And we’ll practice getting better at saying no to anything we don’t feel comfortable or safe trying, basing or spotting.
What we’ll work on
Each class will include:
A warm-up
Technical floor drills to prepare your body for the acro
Training basic static positions: Bird & Reverse Bird, Chair & Reverse Chair, Star, Shoulderstand, Reverse Star, Side Stars - until you can do them with your grandma
Entries, exits and transitions
Your first washing machines
Spotting, communication and training etiquette
The goal isn’t to rush through a million tricks, but to build foundations that will make learning harder tricks safer, smoother and way more fun.
Drop-ins are always welcome, but this cycle is designed as a 4-week progression, so if you want to get the most out of your money, time and energy, joining the full cycle is highly recommended.
